What is a gynecologic oncologist?

A gynecologic oncologist is an obstetrician/gynecologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of female reproductive cancers. They have extensive training in providing care to women in regards to the prevention, screening, early detection, treatment and surveillance of patients with gynecologic cancers.
