Actress Fran Drescher has a major reason to be proud. She will be receiving the 2017 "Lifetime Achievement Award" from Queens College.

The Queens College GALA is an evening of food, drink and entertainment, which will feature student performances and art. This year marks the 27th GALA, which ironically enough, coincides with the 80th anniversary of Queens College.

As Digital Journal previously reported, in October of 2015, Drescher hosted the first Women's Health Summit at the Skirball Center in Los Angeles, as part of her Cancer Schmancer Movement, for which Drescher serves as its president and visionary.

Aside from being an actress, Drescher is also a comedian, model, television producer and an activist.

Throughout her career in the entertainment industry, Drescher was nominated for two Golden Globes, as well as for two Primetime Emmy awards for her portrayal of Fran Fine in hit television sitcom The Nanny.
