Ovarian Cancer Survivor

I want to humbly thank fran for having this website set up. Information is power, and my story is this: I was diagnosed in 2000 with fibroids and their were signs of ovarian cysts. I saw two Dr's at that time that were not too overly concerned about it being of a serious nature, even though I was in agonizing pain.
When I moved back to my homestate LA in 2002, I didn't see someone til 2003, I just believed that this was something I would live without any relief in sight. I was put on some hormone to stop irregular bleeding, tho I didn't have much but the pain was still there, and in 2004 it was suggested I have a hysterectomy, now mind you I was not given a clue it might be cancer, because this provider just expressed that they didn't know what they were looking at so I stopped seeing her. This was 2004.
It was not until April of 2009 that I was diagnosed and at this time it was Stage 3. I had been scheduled before the diagnosis to have reconstructive hernia surgery in my abdomen. The cancer had produced a hernia to pop out in my abdomen something of that nature, and I had been to the ER two nights that same week. The second visit was when they recognized it, and I was admitted, A Dr. came in, and I replied "It is cancer isn't it? He said yes. I said I won't be afraid, and from there It was radical hyterectomy with chemo. May the Wise Ones be with us all for the Battle we have endured.
