Hodgkin's Disease Survivor
In 1992, I started feeling nauseous during work, then followed GI upset more. I went to the Walk in Clinic and they didn't know what was the matter so they referred me to GI specialist. By then I had night sweats, chills and was losing weight. I eventually had a biopsy of my neck which showed Hodgkin's Disease. I later found out it was stage 4 and in my liver.
My super Oncologist started me on a chemotherapy regimen that was done every 2 weeks for 10 months. I was cancer free by Christmas eve. Many years had passed when he told me he thought I was going to die back then and never expected the chemo to work. He said he was as aggressive as he could be without it killing me.
I was glad he didn't tell me his prediction, I was going to fight as hell anyway. Years later in 2009 I was diagnosed with cancer again this time they found a tumor in a lymph node under my chin. I found it early because I am diligent in checking myself regularly. He referred me to another Oncologist that treated me with radiation this time.
Today I am cancer free. I don't know why I get cancer but early detection is the key to success. Please check yourself regularly for anything out of the norm for you. It could save your life. Don't ignore a problem!!! Get it checked.
