Learn To Love It? Are You Crazy???!!!
I was told back in 2000 that my cancer was inoperable, incurable and fast growing. Instead of taking the chemo that offered little hope, I turned to diet, nutrition and a radical holistic approach to healing which included going from the Garden State of New Jersey to the middle of the Andes Mountains in Ecuador with a priest and a prayer warrior to work with a Shaman. I will never forget the first day that I was told by this indigenous healer that I had to find a way to love my cancer. I thought he was off his rocker, not to mention he was asking the impossible. How can you love something that is supposed to kill you? What I eventually learned is that it might kill you a lot sooner if you don’t. Shortly after receiving and dismissing his advise, I was lead to an important book: Learning To Love My Cancer by Kay Bevan . It reaffirmed the impossible request the healer had repeatedly made of me, and ultimately helped me remove that stumbling block from my path. At the time the advice seemed very foolish and yet it was not until I caved in and tried to figure what on earth I could love about this dreaded disease, that I finally began to live with it instead of waiting to die from it. Once I changed the way I looked at things, everything I looked at changed. I was no longer poisoning myself with doubt, fear, anxiety and sorrow. I took my healing into my own hands and was determined to do whatever I had to do so my children would not grow up without their mother. They became my driving force, they gave me the will power I needed to completely change my diet and lifestyle. I became so much stronger as I focused my thoughts on hope, faith and love. By the grace of God, the work of my practitioners and the love and prayers of my family and friends I am alive today ! The mind is an amazing thing. Keep it positive, never give up hope. Always listen to your body, never ignore the signs. I waited too late for an early detection but you don't have to. Take your life into your own hands and make it the best life it can be, no matter what the circumstance. No one is promised tomorrow so make today count ! www.winyourbattle.com
