Uterine Cancer Survivor

I am 32 years old and I got diagnosed with stage 1 Uterine Cancer in Jan of 2010. I have always had bad menstrual cycles but for some reason the week of my diagnose my periods were extremely heavy and i had been bleeding for a week and a half. So in early January i made an emergency appointment to my doctor because of the terrible pain and bleeding that was going on with me. My doctor immediately took me in the exam room and started getting samples from me to run some test. Then a few days later i got the dread phone call asking me to come in to the office the doctor would like to speak to you. As i walked in the doctor's office and saw him sitting at his desk I remember looking at his face and knowing what he was about to say wasn't good news at all. At 8:30 in the morning on Jan. 10, 2010 i got the news that no woman wants to hear that i had Uterine Cancer but the good news is that we caught it in stage 1. The next fews weeks were a blur, I reember crying alot and staying in bed alot. Then it was time to go back to the doctor to have the Cancer cells frozen and scraped and then i had an essure procedure to keep the remaining cells from spreading. In the next year i will have to have a full hysterectomy. I always wanted children but because of the cancer i can't have any unless i adopt. I have to admit at first i was angry at everyone but then i woke up one day and realize that there are many children in he world that needs a home. So i thank GOD for making me have the terrible pain and the extreme bleeding. I know that one day i will be a mother.

I agree

Hi Renne,

Like you, I'm a Stage 1 Grade 1 survivor. I'm just recuperating from my hysterectomy, which I had a week ago.

We are so very blessed to have other options, like surrogacy and permanent care, to complete our families.

Take care and all the best for the future,

Sereena
