They thought it was my appendix

My story started Jan. 2005. At first I thought it was my appendix. Went to the E.D. A CT scan showed what they thought was a fibroid. So they referred me to a Gynocologist. Two sonograms later I was told I needed a endometrial biopsy. That happened in March. Biopsy showed "abnormal" cells. They told me I had three options: a D&C, "chemical stripping", or a hysterectomy. Options 1 and 2 would have to be repeated every 6 to 8 months. Nothing was said about the fibroid. I asked about the removal of the fibroid. I was given a prescription that was supposed to shrink the fibroid.
A sonogram in June showed the fibroid had actually grown. I chose to have the hysterectomy. Pathology discovered cancer in both the fibroid and the uterus. I'm just glad to be a survivor.
