Time is so precious! Enjoy every moment... Keep every appointment and know your body well. Never be afraid to get another opinion. I, too, am a Cancer Survivor... late stage Ovarian. It's been 10 years this month! My gratitude and thanksgiving goes to God first and foremost. Everyone else were instruments through which God had appointed to heal and release me from this horrible disease. I thank them for being the chosen ones. They were wonderful!! Keep up the good and faithful work, Vicky. You are truly blessed.

Hello. I have just been diagnosed with Endometrial Adenocarcinoma a week and a half ago, after a biopsy, then ultrasound, and then a ct scan. Last Monday we went to the Dr. again who told my husband and I that according to the tests, they show no sign of spreading of the cancer. It is all contained in the uterus. I am thanking God. I go in for a complete hysterectomy on the 19th and then will press on. Will see what the Dr. says after surgery etc.. This site is great and has helped me very much reading the posts and taking part. Thank you all for your words and inspiration! Sal

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I had something similiar with my doctor. I am about to begin my first round of chemo, and everyone I talk to always says stuff about their late family members with cancer. It's been somewhat scary. It's nice to hear the story of someone with the same staging that has survived. You've brightened my day. Thank you so much. God bless you and your family!

It seems so common for uterine cancer to be missed. Good thing you stuck with it and got the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up treatment you needed. I love it that you have really embraced life and also are working to end this horrible disease. I have my first follow-up tomorrow, and I'm afraid, and yet I know I, too, had the best available treatment, and I'm so very thankful.

Thanks Vicky for sharing your story. I too have endometrial cancer stage 3c. I have just finished 3 rounds of chemo. I did very well only having minimal side effects. I now begin 6 weeks of radiation followed by 3 more rounds of chemo. It's good to hear positive feedback. I know I'm in God's hands. I rely on prayer, my friends and family and my fellow cancer sisters. I continue to keep a positive outlook and try to live as normal as possible, working everyday as an R.N., exercise, and eat healthy. I pray for you and everyone going through cancer treatment. Keep us all updated. I'd like to get involved in endometrial cancer awareness, to help others deal with their diagnosis, and more research into prevention. My email is jtarsitanocrawford@gmai.com

Thank you Vicki for sharing your story. I was diagnosed in 2008 and went through the 7 weeks of radiation and 6 rounds of chemo. My last chemo was in Feb of 2009 and my CA 125 tends to be on the high side be the CT scans are clear. It is driving me crazy. I just want to relax and enjoy life. I see where you are in New Jersey, I have tried to find a support group in south jersey and can't seem to find one for our type of cancer. Where are you located if you don't mind my asking?

I was diagnosed with 3B uterine cancer late Aug of 2010. Had a total hysterectomy in August and then started chemo in September for a total of 6 rounds. I am doing taxol and carboplatin and my last chemo is next week.
My gyno onc is confident that all of the cancer was removed - it was not in my nodes but moving towards the nodes. He said that I have a high risk of reoccurrance and suggested the chemo and then radiation as insurance in case a microscopic cell was missed. He said that he would not want to look back and say we should have done chemo or radiation and so I totally agreed.
After chemo the plan is radiation but my appt with the radiation doc is mid January. I have read a lot of stuff on line about side effects from radiation in that area and some not so good as well as long term. I have read a lot of people opt not for radiation. I did hear but need to confirm with my Dr that if you get radiation in an area once you cant get it again there again. I toyed recently about not doing radiation but based on my stage and high risk of re-occurrence I am moving forward.
How well did you do with radiation (Laurie and guest or any others)? I know everyone is different with side effects but better to know the worst. I know during chemo I met some people on the same treatment as me and they had different effects. I only had 1 really bad time and needed a transfusion with cycle 5. My dr said I have really handled this well.
Any information you can give is helpful . Looking to hear from someone close to my stage

I had heavy bleeding at age 63 after over 12 years of no periods. I went to my gyn, had tests- all came back negative. She sent me to a gyn oncologist, had a total hysterectomy and received the scary diagnosis of carcinosarcoma. I had the lymph nodes removed and my cancer had spread to 4 nodes. I had 6 chemo treatments of Taxol/carboplatin and am currently having 28 radiation treatments. I have been declared "cancer free" and the radiation is just to "clean up any left overs> I am still very scared but so thankful for my doctors and everyone who as cared for me through the past 8 months. You will make it, just hang in there, and attitude is so very important. There has to be more awareness of uterine cancers as early diagnosis and treatment is so important! Every day I get up I am so thankful to be where I am in terms of health! I never appreciated life fully until I risked losing it ! Prayers, friends, and God helped me through this!
