Fran Drescher, cancer-free 15 years going
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - It took two years and eight doctors for actress Fran Drescher to get a proper diagnosis for her uterine cancer. Fifteen years later, she remains cancer free.
"It's really difficult to be a patient if you're not empowered with information. You get into this maze. It's very easy to slip between the cracks particularly with certain diseases. We need to stop treating doctors like gods. They are busy people with problems of their own," said Drescher.
She continues to get the word out for preventive care through the Cancer Schmancer organization.
