Cherie Nassi
My background is in psycho-oncology and traumatology, with over 14 years of experience facilitating support groups and mental health therapy. I started my career in family support services working alongside DCFS to provide parenting and family support. I then established a teen support program at Palisades Charter High School where I worked with adolescents with chronic illness. During that time, I began my career in psycho-oncology at the Cancer Support Community. I was drawn to supporting the individual through multidisciplinary modalities. I learned you must treat the whole person not just their symptoms. I then continued my work in oncology at UCLA Simms Mann Center for Integrative Oncology. I also established psycho-oncology support groups at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica. I began to expand my practice to traumatology. I now manage a private practice in Brentwood and work in a trauma clinic, Trauma and Beyond. I sit on the advisory board for Fran Drescher’s Cancer Schmancer a non-profit organization that builds awareness and provides education on early detection, and prevention to underserved communities. I am the mental health expert contributor for Living Brentwood, a magazine for which I write educational articles on mental health support. I continue to speak on podcasts and webinars educating the public on my program: 3 Steps to Heal Program from trauma, grief and life transitions.
