Spring Cleaning
Written by Kristal Moffett
This year I learned a wonderful new technique to help clean and freshen your living environment in a non toxic way. I tried this on my home a few weeks ago for the first time and loved the feeling it left in my house. My poor house had been slightly neglected and was feeling stagnant and blah. I decided that the house needed a scrub and tried a technique my doctor had mentioned to me, a wall washing. It was an absolute success!
To begin you will need:
A bucket of water filled about half way up, add approximately 4 drops of lavender essential oil, 4 drops of lemon essential oil and approximately 2 teaspoons of baking soda.
A new soft mop top
Directions:
You will want to remove all your art work, photos, textiles or any other items from your walls once you begin.
Submerge your mop in the water and wring out completely.
Lightly go over the walls in your home from top to bottom.
My walls have milk based paint on them. If you have any finish other than standard paint, you will want to start with a small section and make sure the finish
doesn’t discolor.
I took my time and really thought about cleaning and clearing the space. The end result was an incredibly refreshed and renewed environment.
The perfect home pick-me up for Spring!!!
