BLOG: Kristal Moffett Science Helping To Light Our Way

A very interesting article was published in the Daily Mail, a newspaper in the UK.  The headline “Chemical found in deodorants, face cream and food products is discovered in tumors of ALL breast cancer patients.”  The chemical they are referring to are parabens.    The definition of a paraben is any group of compounds used as preservatives in pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and in the food industry.  According to an article in the New Scientist, parabens can mimic the hormone estrogen, which is known to play a role in the development of breast cancers.  This scientific evidence really just reinforces how important it is that we use products that are free of these chemicals.  Fran has her amazing Trash Cancer site that has a very easy to use product finder.  You can look up any kind of product and it has been graded for you!  Buying chemical free products is the best type of activism.  We are sending our message in the most powerful of ways.  As woman they want us as customers, I say they only get us if they do it our way!!!  The chemical free way!!!!
