Fran Drescher "Yes, This Actually Happened to Me!"

Fran Drescher made her debut with a small, but memorable role in Saturday Night Fever, before becoming well-known in comedies like Doctor Detroit, This Is Spinal Tap, and UHF.

Drescher gained her greatest fame and became a household name as creator and star of the CBS sitcom The Nanny; which aired from 1993 to 1999. In the wake of her success, she scored more roles in films like Jack and The Beautician and the Beast.

Now at age 55, Fran returns to TV success on her newest sitcom Happily Divorced, which airs 10:30/9:30 PM Central on the cable channel TV Land. In it, she plays Fran Lovett, a Los Angeles florist who learns that her husband Peter, inspired by her real-life ex-husband & sitcom co-creator Peter Marc Jacobson and played by John Michael Higgins, is gay and must learn to co-exist together while moving on with their lives after divorce. The actress talks about how the idea was first conceived.
