Testimonials

Being part of Cancer Schmancer has been a great experience. It is a powerful organization that brings awareness to other women about early signs of cancer. I was empowered by Fran to spread the word to other women. I had a great time at the Revlon Run/Walk in NYC with the Cancer Schmancer Team. All of the members were very friendly!      -CTignini

Fran Drescher is wonderfully warm and funny, making you feel as if she is a trusted friend...and this trusted friend with her humor, passion, strength, knowledge and beauty, has dedicated her life to educating and inspiring women everywhere to become medical consumers...becoming our own best advocates and encouraging us to spread the word.   I have made it my mission as well. I had the honor and privilege of hosting the first Cancer Schmancer Chicago benefit.....working with and becoming a part of the CS family...and it is a warm and loving family.....embracing and sharing every experience and story...whether they know you personally or not.      -TSkills

I was introduced to Cancer Schmancer via an Evite to the first event in Chicago. After reading about the Foundation, I knew that I not only wanted to attend the event, I knew that I wanted to become involved with the group, because this group’s mission is working on causes that I have always been passionate about. I had the unique opportunity to be included in dinner with Fran. It was, of course, quite an experience to be able to be “up close and personal” with such a talented, beautiful star, whom I have always admired as “The Nanny”. However, it was even more exciting to sit across the table from such an intelligent and committed women, hearing her speak about her cause. It was truly inspiring to see that such a famous and accomplished actress is willing to give so much of herself to helping others. It would be an honor to have the opportunity to play a role in changing laws and policies that currently allow insurance companies too much power in deciding treatments and diagnostic tests. It would be an honor to have the opportunity to play a role in changing attitudes towards physicians and making sure that all women know that they not only CAN, but that they MUST take charge of their own health. Although I have always felt strongly about these and related issues and I always had the desire to help create change, I have never before come across a group with the same mission.        -Merle Simon
