Matisse Footwear teams up with Cancer Schmancer

LOS ANGELES, Cali., (August 20, 2007) - LA-based footwear line, Matisse, has joined forces with actress Fran Drescher and her charity, the Cancer Schmancer Movement, in their crusade to ensure that all women’s cancers are diagnosed in Stage 1, when they are most curable. Matisse has developed limited-edition rubber flip-flops, which will be available for purchase on the Cancer Schmancer website (www.CancerSchmancer.org). The Matisse flip-flops, designed in black, feature the bright yellow Cancer Schmancer icon as well as the positive “Take control of your body” tagline, with 65% of sales going directly to the charity.

“Being that I have three young daughters, supporting the Cancer Schmancer Movement was a natural choice. I am proud to support this movement, which will undoubtedly shift the course of women’s health history,” says Michelle Katz, Matisse Designer.

Drescher, a uterine cancer survivor, went on a 2 year and 8 doctor odyssey to get a proper diagnosis. On June 21, 2007, her seven year anniversary of wellness and poetically the longest day of sunlight, Drescher launched the Cancer Schmancer Movement, which aims to raise awareness and educate women about the early warning signs of women’s cancers, as well as serve as a policy-driven women's health movement to ensure early diagnosis.

Matisse, a fashion forward footwear line, was developed in 2001. Throughout the years, the line’s trend setting designs and meticulous craftsmanship have made them an international favorite among shoppers and retailers. Each season, Matisse produces casual and formal footwear to perfectly compliment the season’s fashion trends. Consistent popularity has made Matisse shoes a must-have worldwide.
