BLOG: Find Some Relief

With school starting back now many of us begin to become balls of stress. I can remember a few weeks before starting my senior year, I was already stressed out and it was still summer time! Think about when you are most relaxed... If you are like me it is when you are on vacation or doing something you love. The key to remain stress-free is doing what you love and staying in the vacation mindset. Here are some of the ways I stay stress-free and get my stress relief.

Get Active

Not even two weeks into my first semester of college I was extremely stressed. I like to be active, so when I got an e-mail about free martial arts classes on campus I was extremely interested. A few friends and I decided to check it out, so we went to the two hour class together. We worked our bodies and also got a huge stress relief. After the class we all felt refreshed, minus being a little sweaty and grimy.

Try finding something to get active. Maybe you like to walk or jog, try going for a walk or jog every other day or even every day. I know a lot of people who get a huge stress relief just from taking a short walk around the block. Maybe go for a bike ride around your neighborhood, take aerobics, just get active. I promise being active helps a lot!

Take Time to Relax

Often times I find my mind so full of stuff that I need a way to just get it out and have a clear head. When I feel that way, I grab my journal and just write, sometimes what I am writing doesn't make all that much sense, but it always leaves me feeling fresh and new.

Some people may like to draw; maybe just scribbling on a piece of paper for a while will help your stress level decrease. Maybe try reading a book, or laying on the grass and watching the clouds. If you live close to the beach, go sit and watch the waves roll in and out.

Stay Organized

I have found that if I keep a calendar of all the places I have to be and what times I have to be there, it takes a great deal of stress off me. I love being able to just pull out my planner and know when I have to be somewhere. Trust me, it is much easier than trying to remember everything.

Try doing the same thing for homework or other tasks you need to get done daily. Buy an assignment book and write down what you need to get done and when it needs to be done by. Not having to worry about an assignment and not letting the due date sneak up on you helps tremendously!

Hopefully these tips will help you de-stress and manage to stay stress-free. These tips have really lowered my stress level greatly. Good luck!

Make sure to Relax,
