Toby Redshaw is a leading authority on how to leverage modern IT for competitive advantage and to take IT organizations to the next level. He has deep expertise across IT, including Cloud, Social, Mobile, SOA/web services, intelligent architecture, big data and business process management. Also, he is recognized in the technology world for his leadership in high-tech change management and driving ecosystems of innovation.
Currently Toby is CEO of Kevington Advisors, an independent advisory firm that offers services for technology-intensive businesses ranging from start-ups to multinational corporations.
With over thirty years of experience leading technology in change-intensive environments, Toby has contributed from both the business and CIO perspectives at companies like FedEx, Motorola, American Express and Aviva. Previously as CIO for both American Express in New York and Aviva in London, and in senior IT leadership roles at Motorola and FedEx, Toby has led 10,000+ member IT teams and multi-billion dollar budgets to deliver technology vision, strategy, roadmaps and execution, successfully yielding significant improvements in output, quality, business impact, customer satisfaction and innovation. He was a key member of the team that took FedEx global and built the brand outside the USA.
Toby’s experience is not limited to IT. He was General Manager of a Silicon Valley start-up that provided software-as-a-service solutions and supply-chain solutions for the hospitality industry and also was Executive Chairman and served on the board of a technology start-up while at Motorola. At Motorola and Aviva, Toby sat on the Marketing Leadership Teams that provided leadership on e-Commerce and social media. During his 17 years with FedEx, he held management positions in customer service, business operations, sales and technology in business units in the US, Asia, Latin America and Europe. At Aviva, he chaired corporate risk committees overseeing financial crime, IT, and Business Protection. Also, he led a venture capital team and created/ran their leading edge, accretive, multibillion-dollar procurement function.
Among his recognitions, Toby was named to the Top CTO 25 – Most Influential IT leaders by InfoWorld and Top 50 Global CIOs by InformationWeek.
He has served on several private and public boards and currently is Chairman of the Board of Cancer Schmancer, an innovative national charity focused on cancer prevention, education and policy change. He is Chairman Emeritus of the Kellogg Innovation Network, serves on the Leadership Council of the Corporate Eco Forum and was also the Chairman of the RosettaNet Council in Telecomm.
Toby was educated in the USA and Mexico and began his career in Mexico as a media manager in the largest ad agency there.
He resides in New Jersey with his wife and daughter.
