'Trash Cancer' With Fran Drescher

Did you know that in the U.S. one in three women (moms, wives, sisters and daughters) and one in two men (dads, husbands, brothers and sons) will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime? Did you also know that 90 percent of cancer is environment- and lifestyle-related? Most of us don't, and that's why I'm encouraging people everywhere to become educated and host a Trash Cancer party this Sept. 29.

Fran Drescher stands out in a crowd. Whether it’s her over-the-top personality, bold fashion choices or, yes, that signature laugh, she is hardly one to fade into the background. At the GLAAD Hancock Park: Top Chef Invasion, which featured a challenge with chefs from the hit Bravo show and tasting stations from some of the best restaurants and caterers in Los Angeles, the ‘Happily Divorced’ actress chose a beautiful floral-print Pamela Barish design. The dress may have been a more muted-than-usual choice for the vivacious star, but it was pitch-perfect for the occasion.

The Nanny Wants to Help You Host a Party That Could Save Your Life

A dozen years ago, Fran Drescher was diagnosed with cancer. Today, she’s heading a movement to make sure millions never get it at all. Following the success of her book Cancer Schmancer, Fran founded the Cancer Schmancer Movement, which aims “to shift the nation’s priority from searching for a cancer cure towards prevention and early detection of cancer.” She’s said,  “I got famous, then I got cancer, and now I live to talk about it.”
