I have two very good friends who are survivors, (went through USC Norris) this organization can help to take the "Cancer is a death sentence" stigma away from a preliminary diagnosis. -Gregory Pollock
Testimonials
Like Fran always says....everyone knows a woman that they have lost to cancer. I lost my very beloved aunt to ovarian cancer this past year. Hers was diagnosed in stage 3-4 and she spent the last 3 years of her life battling the disease. The goal of Cancer Schmancer is to diagnose everyone in stage 1.......if only my aunt had been diagnosed in stage 1! She would still be here today I am sure! She also would not have had to under go all the painful and life consuming treatments (not to mention costly) that she did to keep her alive the 3 years after her surgery. Thanks to Fran for taking her experience with cancer and doing something about it to help other people! Thanks to her and her organization more and more people will be aware of early warning signs of the disease! I, along with so many others, respect her and look up to her so much, that we are more likely to take her advice......to GO to doctors, to not accept when they might tell us that we are well when we know deep down something is wrong, to ask lots of questions, and get 2nd opinions! (Hopefully not 8 like she had to!) Thanks so much to Fran and Cancer Schmancer for educating women and working to reform our health care situation so that more women can LIVE from cancer like she did, not DIE from it. -Katie
I had the opportunity to attend a Cancer Schmancer event in NYC. Having already visited the organization's site, I was already familiar with the general mission. However, meeting Fran and seeing her and her board's passion for this very important cause, has led me to recommend it to anyone interested in the issue of cancer. I'm one of the many who would have benefitted from early detection, however, that is still a pipe dream with my cancer (ovarian). Cancer Schmancer is working toward early detection for all cancers, and deserves our support. -ElenitaD
