Fran Drescher – actress, writer, director, and labor leader -- speaks at a National Press Club Headliners luncheon on Monday, April 25. Drescher speaks on the intersection of labor, sustainability, and health. Drescher was elected president of SAG-AFTRA in September 2021. A two-time Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated actor for her portrayal as Fran Fine on CBS’s hit series, The Nanny, Drescher also wore many hats as creator, executive producer, writer and director.

In a word YES! Listen I'm a CANCER survivor so I got a clue about all this stuff. Now 13 years well, I feel like I got famous, I got cancer and I LIVED to tawk about it. So I'm talking.

FYI, it took me two years and eight doctors to get a proper diagnosis of uterine cancer. I got in the stirrups more times than Roy Rogers!

Fran's Blog - "The Pill" - Excerpt from CANCER SCHMANCER

I remember Elaine had spend a year complaining about leg pain before being dianosed with a blocked artery by a vascular doctor. Up until that point she'd been told she needed back surgery for a compressed disc.  Her fear of surgery kept her searching for another diagnosis, though, and she eventually found her way to Mind Over Back Pain by Dr. John Sarno.  This doctor's approach sounded nonsurgical to Elaine, so she pursued it.
