This is by far one of the best organizations I've been involved with. They continuously educate you about the latest findings, risks,warning signs, you name it. The team is simply wonderful and it's a joy to volunteer for them. Raising awareness is just as important as letting people know that a diagnosis is not a death sentence. Cancer in my mind is like a monsterous invasion of your body that does not care who it takes in its path. I was always aware of cancer, but I never thought it would come into my life until my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer last year. After trying everthing in our means to save her life, she died 6 short months later. I'm still in a state of shock from it all. Her cancer was caught in its late stage which is typical of lung cancer. When Cancer Schmancer was brought to my attention, the first thing that really struck me was the line, "stage 1 is the cure".
